MY SMALL SOUL

corey mesler

I have a soul, a small one,
one that responds to the
right stimuli. It’s a blessing
here in the Endtimes.
Sometimes, in mixed company,
I pull my soul out and
allow others to poke it with
whatever is close at hand.
I do this to remain an organism,
to keep my finger on my
own pulse. I do this because
I want to reciprocate.
This is what we humans have.
This is what we have
instead of magic or eternality.
My small soul rejoices in this.
